Mentor Shooting Sends Man to Hospital, Suspect Jailed
Mentor (trfnews.i234.me) — A man was injured during an early Sunday shooting in Polk County.
The incident was reported at about 2:48 a.m. on Sunday, September 20.
The shooting happened at 32300 110th Avenue Southeast in Mentor.
Polk County deputies responded after receiving a report of a shooting at the property.
Victim Taken To Grand Forks Hospital
Deputies arrived and found a male victim who had suffered injuries.
Authorities identified the injured man as 55-year-old Shawn Alan Qualley.
Qualley was taken by ambulance to Grand Forks for medical treatment.
He was transported to Altru Hospital.
Officials did not release details about the nature or severity of Qualley’s injuries.
No updated information about his medical condition was immediately released.
79-Year-Old Suspect Taken Into Custody
Authorities identified the suspect as 79-year-old Leslie Manford Anderson.
Anderson was taken into custody without incident, according to the sheriff’s office.
He was transported to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center in Crookston.
Information about the facility is available through Tri-County Community Corrections.
Authorities did not announce any formal criminal charges in the initial report.
No information was released about what may have led to the shooting.
Officials also did not disclose the relationship between Anderson and Qualley.
Investigation Remains Active
