Mentor Shooting Sends Man to Hospital, One in Custody

Mentor (trfnews.i234.me) — A shooting early Sunday left one man injured and another man in custody near Mentor.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office received the report at about 2:48 a.m. on Sunday, September 20.

Deputies were sent to 32300 110th Avenue Southeast, west of Mentor.

Emergency dispatch information described a gunshot wound victim at the scene.

The victim’s condition was not immediately known when emergency crews were sent.

The Sheriff’s Office later identified the injured man as Shawn Alan Qualley, 55.

Qualley was taken by ambulance to Altru Health System in Grand Forks for treatment.

The initial release did not provide more information about Qualley’s injuries or condition.

The Sheriff’s Office identified the other man as Leslie Manford Anderson, 79.

Authorities said Anderson was taken into custody without incident.

He was transported to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center in Crookston.
