Wadena County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) A semi and two SUVs crashed Friday evening in Menahga.
Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened at about 6:01 pm on Friday, January 16, 2026.
The location was Hwy 71 at 11th Street SE in Menahga.
Early radio traffic described a serious “car versus semi” crash with one person trapped.
“Car versus semi head-on, one entrapped, Hwy 71 at 11th Street, south Menahga.”
Later traffic suggested the vehicle might be a plow.
The State Patrol report does not list a snowplow.
What the state report says
State Patrol says a southbound Volvo semi tractor hit two northbound vehicles.
The other vehicles were a Chevy Traverse and a Ford Explorer.
The road was listed as snow and ice at the time.
The State Patrol report lists three drivers by name.
- Jamal Said Mohamed, 37, of Minneapolis, drove the semi.
- Megan Elizabeth Burkhammer, 46, of Garfield, drove the Chevy Traverse.
- Hannah Grace Caron, 29, of Menahga, drove the Ford Explorer.
State Patrol lists no alcohol involvement for any driver.
The report also lists seat belts in use for the listed drivers.

Injuries reported
State Patrol says Burkhammer had non-life-threatening injuries.
She was taken to Park Rapids Hospital, according to the report.
State Patrol lists no injuries for Mohamed or Caron.
The report also lists two juvenile passengers.
It lists an infant and a teen passenger.
State Patrol lists no injuries for either passenger.
