MENAHGA, Wadena County (trfnews.i234.me) — A three-vehicle crash on icy Highway 71 hurt one driver.

It happened on Friday, January 16, 2026.

What happened

The Minnesota State Patrol said a 2017 Volvo tractor-truck was headed south on Highway 71.

It collided with two SUVs that were headed north.

The crash happened near Highway 71 and 11th Street SE in Menahga.

Troopers listed the time as 6:01 p.m.

Drivers and injuries

The tractor-truck driver was Jamal Said Mohamed, 37, of Minneapolis.

He was not hurt.

Troopers said he was wearing a seat belt.

One SUV was a 2011 Chevy Traverse.

The driver was Megan Elizabeth Burkhammer, 46, of Garfield.

She had non-life-threatening injuries.

She was taken to Park Rapids Hospital.

A 14-year-old girl passenger was not hurt.

Troopers said both were wearing seat belts.

The Traverse airbag deployed, the report said.

The second SUV was a 2018 Ford Explorer.

The driver was Hannah Grace Caron, 29, of Menahga.

She was not hurt.

A male infant passenger was also not hurt.

Troopers said both were buckled.

The Explorer airbag did not deploy, the report said.

Road conditions and response

Road conditions were listed as snow and ice.

Troopers said alcohol was not involved.

Several agencies responded to the scene.

They included Menahga Police and Sebeka Police.

Wadena County deputies also assisted.

Menahga Fire and first responders helped at the scene.

Becker County deputies also responded, the report said.

Astera Ambulance crews assisted with patient care.

The report was marked “information believed complete.”

Troopers listed it as an injury crash.
