Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN (trfnews.i234.me)—On January 9, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a reported homicide at an apartment located in the 1100 block of James Avenue North, Minneapolis. Upon arrival, they discovered a deceased male with a gunshot wound to the neck. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s girlfriend informed investigators that an earlier dispute over payment for hair braiding services escalated when Williams, her daughter’s boyfriend, arrived at the apartment. She stated that Williams confronted the victim outside their unit, engaged in a brief argument, then shot him and fled in a white Subaru with her daughter. Surveillance footage corroborated Williams’ arrival and departure around the time of the incident.
Williams was arrested on January 13 and is currently held at the Hennepin County Jail. He faces charges of second-degree murder with intent, carrying a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison. His initial court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.
