under a plea deal 30-year-old Joshua Franklin pled guilty to a charge of aggravated assault for cutting his roommate’s neck with a knife in March of 2022 in Grand Forks he’s been sentenced to eight years in prison credit for 390 days already served Franklin was also ordered to pay 17 346 restitution to the victim who survived the ordeal the original charge of attempted murder was dropped to aggravated assault as part of the plea deal for more background on this story here’s our report from the scene in March of 2022. on Saturday at 8 A.M officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Cottonwood Street after a 9-1-1 caller reported a male victim suffering from a laceration to his neck responding officers located the male victim in the residence with an injury that was later determined to have been caused by a knife the victim was transported to all True by ambulance a second male subject who was found to be the roommate of the male victim was present at the res in The Residence at this time at the time today after further investigation the roommate 29 year old Grand Forks resident Joshua Franklin was arrested and has been preliminary charged with attempted murder again under a plea deal Franklin pled guilty to a lesser charge of aggravated assault sentenced to eight years in prison credit for 390 days already served I’m Neil Berg reporting for itrfnews.i234.me
