Grand Forks County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Grand Forks man is in custody after a disturbing late-night incident involving an attempted sexual assault at an apartment complex.
According to the Grand Forks Police Department, officers were dispatched around 11:25 p.m. Wednesday night to 4001 Gateway Drive for a report of an attempted sexual assault.
Police say the initial investigation revealed that the suspect, Andrew Ebertowski, forced his way into a female neighbor’s apartment. Once inside, he grabbed the victim, stated that he wanted to have sex with her, and pushed her against the kitchen counter.
Fortunately, the victim was able to escape unharmed and fled to a nearby friend’s apartment, where she immediately called 911.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Ebertowski still inside the woman’s apartment. He was promptly arrested and is now facing multiple charges, including:

Burglary

Terrorizing
-
Felonious Restraint

Attempted Sexual Assault
Police confirm Ebertowski was the only suspect, and there is no continuing threat to the public.
