Brown County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Willmar man faces felony charges after threats in New Ulm.
Tyler Daniel Hill, 37, of Willmar, was charged in Brown County.
He faces two felony counts of Threats of Violence.
He also faces one misdemeanor count of Disorderly Conduct.
What the complaint says happened
The incident date listed in the complaint is January 24, 2026.
New Ulm police were sent to the Brown County Evaluation Center.
Staff reported a client was yelling and slamming doors.
A staff member said Hill left his room without a shirt.
Staff asked him to put on a shirt more than once.
The staff member said Hill refused and told the staff to call the police.
The complaint says Hill followed the staff member to an office.
He allegedly threatened to find the staff member’s home and kill him.
He also allegedly threatened to “hunt down” the staff member’s family.

Arrest and jail incident
Police arrested Hill and took him to the Brown County Jail.
During the ride, the complaint says he kept making threats.
At the jail, the complaint says Hill stayed agitated.
He allegedly pointed at the staff and said, “dead, dead, dead.”
He also reportedly claimed to be part of a drug cartel.
The complaint says Hill threatened to use Facebook to find home addresses.
He allegedly said he would murder people at their homes.
Later, jail staff reported Hill tried to harm himself in his cell.
Staff said he tore a shirt and wrapped it around his neck.
The complaint says staff stepped in and removed clothing for safety.
Charges and court
Hill is charged under Minnesota Statute 609.713.
He is also charged under Minnesota Statute 609.72.
Bail was set at $5,000 with conditions, according to court records.
An alternative bail of $20,000 was set without conditions.
Conditions include no contact with the staff named in the complaint.
Judge Robert A Docherty signed the bail order.
The case was filed on January 27, 2026.
