Mahnomen County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Nevis resident faces an assault charge after an alleged fight at a local roadhouse.

Eleannor Helen Roehl is charged with fifth-degree assault in Mahnomen County District Court.

The charge stems from an incident reported July 26, 2025, at the Ruffed Grouse Roadhouse.

Court records list the case as 44-CR-25-615.

Alleged Attack During Fundraiser

According to the complaint, Jasmine Larson attended a fundraiser and motorcycle ride at the business.

Larson told authorities she was sitting on her motorcycle in the parking lot.

She said Roehl approached her and started an argument.

The dispute involved care Larson had provided to one of Roehl’s family members.

Larson said she cared for the family member during the final two weeks of his life.

The complaint says Roehl blamed Larson for playing a role in the family member’s death.

Larson alleged Roehl then punched her in the face four or five times.

Larson said she fell or rolled into a nearby ditch during the encounter.

She alleged Roehl tried to punch her again while she was in the ditch.

Larson said she kicked Roehl and was able to stand.

Authorities reported that Larson had bruising on her face after the incident.

The misdemeanor charge alleges intentional bodily harm or an attempt to cause bodily harm.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail.

It also carries a possible $1,000 fine, or both penalties.
