Mahnomen Man Faces Felony Drug, DWI Charges

Mahnomen (trfnews.i234.me) — Charles Louis Senogles faces a felony drug charge and a misdemeanor DWI charge in Mahnomen County District Court.

The charges stem from an August 14, 2026, traffic stop near Mahnomen Public High School.

Prosecutors allege Senogles possessed cocaine and methamphetamine within a school zone.

They also accuse him of driving while under the influence of a controlled substance.

The felony drug charge carries up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The DWI charge carries up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Traffic Stop Near High School

The complaint says law enforcement saw a vehicle near the northeast corner of the high school property.

Authorities stopped the vehicle after it allegedly made a short left turn into the opposing traffic lane.

The complaint also says the vehicle had a third brake light that was not working.

Senogles was identified as the driver.

He told authorities that he did not have his driver’s license or proof of insurance.

A records check showed his driving privileges were revoked, according to the complaint.

Authorities reported that Senogles spoke quickly, appeared sweaty, and moved constantly during the stop.

Officers then conducted field sobriety testing.

The complaint says Senogles used his arms for balance during two tests.

It also says he swayed and put his foot down during the one-leg stand.

Senogles denied using drugs and denied being impaired.

Authorities arrested Senogles on suspicion of impaired driving.

The two passengers were then asked to leave the vehicle before a search.

Investigators reported finding a small jar containing a white powdery substance in the center console.

They also reported finding drug paraphernalia and several small packages inside a black bag.

A field test on the jar allegedly indicated cocaine.

Another field test allegedly indicated methamphetamine in one of the packages.

The complaint says a front-seat passenger claimed Senogles handed him items and told him to hide them.

Senogles denied that the drugs belonged to him.

Prosecutors allege the substances were possessed inside a school zone.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for a blood or urine sample from Senogles.

The complaint says Senogles provided a blood sample.

No laboratory result is included in the complaint information provided to TRF News.

Senogles faces third-degree controlled substance possession under Minnesota Statute 152.023.

Minnesota law also prohibits driving while under the influence of a controlled substance.

The DWI law is available under Minnesota Statute 169A.20.

The case is filed under court number 44-CR-26-477 in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District.
