Mahnomen County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Mahnomen man is facing a felony charge after authorities say he failed to meet Minnesota predatory offender registration rules.
Rodney Alan Boswell, 53, is charged in Mahnomen County District Court with knowingly failing to fulfill a registration requirement. The case was filed in the 9th Judicial District under court file 44-CR-26-126.
The complaint says Boswell was required to register after a prior third-degree criminal sexual conduct conviction. Under Minnesota law, registered offenders must report a primary address before moving. They must report at least five days before a move when possible.
Address Reported Before Fire
According to the complaint, Boswell reported a primary address on February 9, 2026. That address was listed as 2700 State Highway 200 in Mahnomen.
He did not list a secondary address, according to court records. The complaint says Wesley Warren also lived at that address.
A trailer home had been moved onto the property in the fall of 2025. The complaint says that the trailer was destroyed by fire on February 10, 2026. No one was reported on the property during the fire.

Authorities Say Checks Found No One Home
Authorities later tried several times to contact Boswell at the listed address. The complaint says no one was found there during checks in February and early March.
The remaining home on the property did not appear to be lived in, according to the complaint. On March 3, 2026, Wesley Warren told authorities the house had no electricity since the fire.
Warren also said his brother sometimes lived at the house. He said no one else lived there, according to the complaint.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension mailed Boswell a verification letter on February 20, 2026. The complaint says Boswell did not return the letter. Authorities say he became non-compliant on February 25, 2026.
Felony Charge Filed
The charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. It also carries a possible $10,000 fine. The complaint lists prior failing-to-register convictions and two pending registration cases.
The charge is an accusation. Boswell is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
