Mahnomen Man Charged In Grocery Store Damage Case

Mahnomen (trfnews.i234.me) — A Mahnomen man is facing a felony property damage charge after an alleged dispute outside a grocery store.

Dylan John Guinn is charged in Mahnomen County District Court with first-degree damage to property.

The case is filed in Minnesota’s 9th Judicial District under court file 44-CR-26-192.

A warrant was requested in the case, according to the complaint.

Report At Bruggeman’s Grocery Store

According to the complaint, law enforcement was dispatched January 15, 2026.

The call came in at about 1:06 p.m.

The report involved a possible fight at Bruggeman’s Grocery Store in Mahnomen.

Robert Bruggeman told authorities that a man was trying to fight someone in a black SUV.

The complaint says the black SUV left the area.

Authorities later made contact with Guinn near the scene.

Guinn was described as wearing a brown coat and blue jeans.

The complaint says he appeared jittery and made uncontrolled movements.

Vehicle Damage Reported

A short time later, dispatch reported that Nathan Kirsch was at Cenex.

Kirsch said he found damage to the vehicle he had been driving.

According to the complaint, Kirsch said he had pulled into Bruggeman’s by the front entrance.

He said a man wearing a brown coat came from 1st Street.

Kirsch reported that the man yelled at him to get out and fight.

The complaint says the man moved around to Kirsch’s side of the vehicle.

Kirsch said the man then hit the vehicle.

Kirsch reported the damage at his boss’ request, according to court documents.

Witness Statement Cited

Authorities later spoke with William Brave Bull about the incident.

Brave Bull said he saw a man run up to the black SUV.

He said the man yelled for the driver to get out and fight.

Brave Bull then went inside and told Robert Bruggeman to call police.

The complaint says Brave Bull later identified the man as Guinn.

He said he recognized Guinn from regular visits to the store.

The estimated repair cost for the vehicle was $1,063.

The charge is listed under Minnesota Statute 609.595.

The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

It also carries a possible $10,000 fine, or both.

The complaint says prosecutors requested a warrant.

They cited two active warrants tied to missed court appearances.

The charge is only an accusation at this stage.

Guinn is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
