Mahnomen Man Charged After Roadway Fight
Mahnomen County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Mahnomen man is facing misdemeanor charges after a reported fight involving family members led to a police investigation.

According to court documents, Dean Ray Hanks Jr., born March 5, 1998, of Mahnomen, is charged with domestic assault and disorderly conduct.
The charges stem from an incident reported on June 26, 2026, in Mahnomen County.
Hanks faces a domestic assault charge for allegedly causing or attempting to cause bodily harm to a family member.
The complaint states the alleged victim was his sister, Tessa Marie Smith.
He is also charged with disorderly conduct involving alleged fighting or brawling.
The case was filed in Mahnomen County District Court in the Ninth Judicial District.
Reported Fight Led to Investigation
Court documents state authorities were called around 6:23 p.m. after a report of a fight in the roadway near College Road in Mahnomen.
Investigators said several people were involved in a confrontation near a residence.
According to the complaint, witnesses reported that a verbal dispute had occurred before the physical confrontation.
The complaint states that Tessa Smith and others later went to a residence connected to the dispute.
Authorities said video footage showed Hanks approaching Smith and the two becoming involved in a physical struggle.
The complaint alleges the fight continued and involved another person identified as Bobbi Faye Keir.
Investigators reported that video from the area was reviewed during the investigation.
