Mahnomen Casino Theft Charge Filed Over $121 Ticket

Mahnomen (trfnews.i234.me) — Andrew Peter Sehlstrom faces a misdemeanor theft charge involving a $121 casino cash-out ticket.

The charge was filed in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District Court in Mahnomen County.

Sehlstrom, 47, is accused of taking the ticket at Shooting Star Casino on April 23, 2026.

The allegations are contained in a criminal complaint and have not been proven in court.

Casino Security Reports Missing Ticket

Authorities responded to Shooting Star Casino after receiving a report about a stolen cash-out ticket.

The ticket was valued at $121, according to the complaint.

The victim reportedly did not initially know the ticket had been taken.

Casino security later informed the victim that someone had allegedly taken and cashed the ticket.

Security staff identified Andrew Peter Sehlstrom as the person who allegedly took the ticket.

The complaint states Sehlstrom cashed the ticket before leaving the casino property.

Complaint Details Alleged Encounter

Authorities later spoke with Sehlstrom about the incident, according to court documents.

Sehlstrom reportedly said he had returned the money to the casino.

Casino security disputed that statement, according to the complaint.

The complaint states Sehlstrom then left the property again.

Prosecutors allege Sehlstrom intentionally took another person’s property without permission.

They also allege he intended to permanently deprive the owner of that property.

Misdemeanor Theft Charge Filed

Sehlstrom is charged with misdemeanor theft under Minnesota Statute 609.52.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of 90 days in jail.

It also carries a possible fine of up to $1,000.

The case is filed as Mahnomen County District Court file 44-CR-26-390.

The complaint was issued with a summons rather than an order for immediate detention.

Public information about Minnesota court cases is available through the Minnesota Judicial Branch.

Sehlstrom is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
