Lorraine Steinberg, formerly of Alvarado, passed away April 27, 2024 in Florida.
Lorraine was born October 27, 1941 to Hilbert and Lena (Ferencik) Larson. She was raised in rural Warren, MN and graduated from Alvarado High School. Lorraine attended Aakers Business College in Grand Forks.
On August 5, 1961 Lorraine was united in marriage to George Steinberg. They lived in the Alvarado, MN area until 1997 when they moved to DeFuniak Springs, FL. Lorraine enjoyed being home with her family, record-keeping, and working alongside George in the building of their homes during their life together. George predeceased her by 19 years. Lorraine accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a young child, and was an active member of Alvarado Baptist Church and Southwide Baptist Church in DeFuniak Springs, FL. A heavenly home is Lorraine’s reward.
Family members include daughter, Deonna (Jim) Mitchem of Burnsville, MN, Karen Gillette of Seffner, FL, Pam (Tom) Johnson of Dothan, AL, Keith (Janelle) Steinberg of Fargo, and greatly enjoyed 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, also brothers Darrell (Vierlyn) Larson of Apple Valley, MN, Ronald Larson of East Grand Forks, David Larson of Argyle, and sister-in-law Sylvia Oberg of Evanston, IL.
A memorial service and fellowship for Lorraine Steinberg will be held Saturday, June 15th at Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church, 2901 20th St S, Moorhead, MN at 3 p.m.
Lorraine donated her body to United Tissue Network. Inurnment will occur privately at a later date at Vega Baptist Cemetery – 3 miles north and 1 mile east of Alvarado.
