Lake Park (trfnews.i234.me) A Becker County man faces a felony property damage charge after a truck was damaged last June. Prosecutors say the repair estimate tops $7,400.

Charge Filed in Becker County

According to a criminal complaint, Devin Michael Knox, 40, of Rush City, is charged with first-degree damage to property. The case was filed in Becker County District Court.

The complaint says deputies were called to a home in Lake Park on June 15, 2025. The call came in after a report of a vandalized truck. The truck owner and a juvenile witness spoke with deputies at the scene.

What the Complaint Says

Court records say the truck had dents along the passenger side. The rear passenger window was also broken. Investigators later spoke with the woman who had borrowed the truck.

She told deputies the truck was parked in her driveway on June 14, 2025. She said she arrived home with Knox, her former boyfriend. The complaint says Knox became upset after seeing the truck there.

The woman told deputies Knox yelled at her to take the truck back. She then went inside the home. The complaint says Knox threw rocks at the truck before leaving the area.

Repair Estimate Tops $7,000

The truck owner later gave deputies a repair estimate from Lakes Finest Collision Center. The estimate listed total damage at $7,416.15. That figure is named in the complaint.

Under Minnesota law, first-degree property damage can be charged when the damage is more than $1,000. The complaint lists the maximum penalty as five years in prison, a $10,000 fine, or both.

Case Status

A criminal complaint is not a conviction. It is a formal accusation filed in court. The state must still prove the charge. Knox is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

The complaint lists the offense date as June 14, 2025. The case carries court file number 03-CR-26-215. A summons was issued in the case.
