Lake Lillian Tube Crash Seriously Injures Two

Lake Lillian (trfnews.i234.me) — Two juveniles suffered serious injuries Sunday evening during a tubing crash on Big Kandiyohi Lake.

The crash happened at about 6:34 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6.

It occurred in the 6600 block of 126th Avenue Southeast in Fahlun Township.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash.

Tube Strikes Unoccupied Boat

Investigators said a pontoon was pulling a tube carrying four juveniles across the lake.

The tube then collided with an unoccupied boat, according to the sheriff’s office.

Two riders suffered serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The other two juveniles were not injured in the collision.

Officials said all four riders were wearing life jackets when the crash happened.

The names and ages of the juveniles were not released.

Officials also did not release further information about the injured riders’ conditions.

Emergency crews treated the injured riders at the scene before transporting them by ambulance.

Both injured juveniles were taken to a CentraCare facility in Willmar for treatment.

The Blomkest Fire Department assisted at the crash scene.

The Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad also responded to help with the emergency operation.

Lake Lillian Ambulance and CentraCare Ambulance provided medical assistance and transportation.

The sheriff’s office did not release information about the pontoon operator.

Authorities also did not say how fast the pontoon was traveling before the collision.

The unoccupied boat was on the lake when the tube struck it, investigators said.

No injuries were reported among the other two riders on the tube.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
