Kennedy, Kittson County (trfnews.i234.me) — A harrowing case has shaken northwestern Minnesota as Jordan Carol Hanson, 23, of Kennedy, is being held on a $1 million bond after allegedly murdering a Hallock man by shooting him in the head.
Court documents reveal Hanson, reportedly under the influence of methamphetamine, shot the victim inside his Hallock residence. Law enforcement discovered the victim deceased, with blood pooled around him and a 9mm handgun nearby. Hanson’s mother reported the crime to the Kittson County Sheriff’s Department, also mentioning that Hanson had returned home with the victim’s dog and vehicle.
When contacted by police, Hanson made incoherent statements and later allegedly confessed to shooting the victim. A witness corroborated the account, stating meth use preceded the shooting.
Hanson now faces second and third-degree murder charges. If convicted, she could face up to 40 years in prison.
