Karla King, 49 – Karla King, age 49, of Cohasset passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024 at her home.
Karla Leigh King was born May 15, 1975 in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of Loren E. and Glenyce F. (Bakken) Lusignan. Karla grew up in Grygla, Minnesota attending school and graduating from Grygla High School in 1993. She continued her education at Northland College in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. While a college student, Karla met the love of her life, Brent King while working at Hugo’s Grocery Store. Karla and Brent were married August 10, 1996. Together they made their home in Thief River Falls and Mankato; Fort Collins, CO, Delta Junction, AK, Spearman, TX and moved to the Grand Rapids, area in 2013.
Karla can be remembered for her gift of hospitality as she loved cooking for her family and friends, Wednesday Night Meal at church, and even packing food for Brent’s entire trip when he traveled for work! She was a hard-working mom who loved her three children. Her outgoing personality made it easy for her to assist lots of people through the entire adoption process; something she was extremely passionate about. Karla will be deeply missed by her husband of 28 years, Brent; their three children, Grayson, age 12, Harrison, age 10, and Annie, age 9; her parents, Loren and Glenyce Lusignan; her two brothers and their families, Brent and Sara Lusignan and Kyle, Barb and Austin ( Russeth) Lusignan; her father and mother-in-law, Darryl and Audre King; other relatives, many friends throughout the United States and her co-workers.
Visitation will be Friday, August 23, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Grand Rapids Evangelical Free Church, 34383 County Road 63, Grand Rapids and again on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10:30 AM at the church.
A funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM, officiated by Rev. Micah Labovitch.
Burial will be at Wildwood Cemetery, Cohasset.
