GRAND FORKS, NDJoshua Jon Temple, 40, of Grand Forks, has been sentenced to 5 years in prison followed by 2 years of probation after pleading guilty to terrorizing and endangering an eligible adult. Two domestic violence charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

The charges stemmed from Temple’s abuse of his wife, Dr. Whitney Temple, who was undergoing treatment for cancer. According to the criminal complaint, police were called to remove Temple from the hospital on April 5th, 2024, due to a history of abuse. The complaint details multiple incidents, including dragging Whitney by the arms, slapping her, and forcing her to eat Clorox wipes.

Temple’s actions were described as so severe that a doctor stated his wife would not survive another return to his care. Whitney Temple sadly passed away from cancer, and the abuse allegations have shocked the community.
