John F. Grenier, age 69 of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024 from Parkinson’s Disease.
John Fredrick Grenier was born on July 12, 1954 in Crookston, MN the son of Joseph and Carol (Wigand) Grenier. John grew up and lived his whole life in East Grand Forks. He graduated from East Grand Forks Senior High School with the Class of 1972. He attended the Thief River Falls Technical College and earned a degree in Drafting. On July 8, 1977 he was united in marriage to Elaine Plutowski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He worked for the Waste Water Department for the City of East Grand Forks, retiring after 35 years. He also worked for American Crystal Sugar during harvest for many years. After retirement from the city, he worked for M & K Porta Potties. John loved gardening, especially growing pumpkins, deer hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
Family members who survive John include his wife of 46 years Elaine Grenier of East Grand Forks, MN; children, Tanya Grundysen of East Grand Forks, MN, Jacob Grenier of Grand Forks, ND and Jennifer (Troy) Otto of Skime, MN; 4 grandchildren, Tanner, Cody and Ellie Otto and Addisyn Grundysen; siblings, David (Dawn) Grenier of Cypres, TX, Wendy Jo (Tim) Wilson of Mesa, AZ, Duke (Jack) Deziel of East Grand Forks, MN and Gail (Chuck) Hobus of East Grand Forks, MN; mother-in-law, RoseAnn Plutowski of East Grand Forks, MN and many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Carol Grenier and father-in-law, Raymond Plutowski. Blessed Be the Memory of John F. Grenier
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1515 5th Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN. Service will be live-streamed on Our Savior’s website at www.oslcegf.org.
Visitation: 10:00-11:00 AM on Thursday, June 13, 2024 also at the church.
Interment: Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks, MN
