THIEF RIVER FALLS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) Police have been investigating a threat overheard at Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
everyone Neil Berg here at Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls where there may be a bit of wariness or suspicion in the air following news that a student overheard a threat a threat that someone planned to bring a gun to school on November 1st tomorrow and do great harm however police chief dick Wittenberg says it doesn’t appear that threat is credible what was the threat well what it was was a student reported that he had overheard a conversation in a hallway he didn’t really know exactly what he heard but he thought the word gun was used we investigated it a lot further and it’s very second third meeting fourth hand information so it’s enough unsubstantiated threat at this point however when you get something like this you definitely pay attention to it and we’re working with the school board to make sure that security is increased a little bit and you know we’re on top of it so kind of the word I heard that went out was yes there was a somebody overheard a conversation that somebody planned to bring the gun to school on November 1st and caused great harm that’s stretching what was heard that’s kind of probably adding to what was heard November first was mentioned but it was pretty sketchy and very unsubstantiated what exactly was said and in like I said our informations third and fourth hand at this point and our investigation has turned up any credible threats at this point so that the person who supposedly made this threat hasn’t been found the person that brought it to our attention yes he was found but he didn’t have very much information at all under the fact that he heard this overheard this conversation and that was that’s about it so it’s so so what goes on at the school and hours and lockdown no no we’re not doing anything to that extreme we’re just increasing the presence as far as the police over there and everybody’s keeping their eyes open a little bit and you know I would say we’re just being cautious about it you know it’s something nobody likes to hear nowadays what’s happened in different parts of the country but it won’t be the first time a kid made a stupid comment at school that’s correct that is correct so yeah like I said it bears you know paying some attention to and investigating certainly but it doesn’t look like it’s gonna pan out as a credible threat the Thief River Falls I’m Neil Berg reporting for I news TV
