GRAND FORKS, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — An inmate at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center has been charged with aggravated assault following an incident involving a corrections officer.
Gavin Johnson, 23, was instructed to relocate to a different cell but refused, choosing instead to sit in a laundry basket.
When a corrections officer attempted to remove him, Johnson allegedly used a pencil to stab the officer above the left eye.
Multiple officers intervened to restrain him.
Johnson was initially incarcerated on allegations of attempting to break into a Grand Forks apartment.
He now faces additional charges of aggravated assault with a weapon.
