High-Speed Chase in Grand Forks Ends with Three Arrests

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – We have an update on the high-speed pursuit and crash early Thursday morning in Grand Forks. According to Grand Forks County Sheriff Andy Schneider, the chase began on South Washington Street around 4:00 a.m. Speeds reached 100 mph as the vehicle took several turns, eventually crashing into a parked car on 27th Avenue South before Columbia Road. The driver fled the scene on foot.

Deputies observed additional occupants in the vehicle and ordered them out. Deborah Fleetwood, 33, of Carrington, North Dakota, was arrested for felony hindering law enforcement. Destinie Rivera, 23, of Pike, North Dakota, was arrested on outstanding warrants. Two hours later, the Grand Forks Police received a call about a suspicious male at a residence. The male was identified as Kyle Maez-Schaak, 31, of New Rockford, North Dakota.

Maez-Schaak was identified as the driver and was arrested on multiple charges, including felony criminal mischief, driving under suspension, reckless endangerment, refusal to halt, fleeing a police officer, and two outstanding felony warrants. He has over 30 prior arrests since becoming an adult.
