Hallock, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — The victim of this week’s shocking homicide in Hallock, Minnesota, has been identified as Justin Esparza. Authorities say 23-year-old Jordan Carol Hanson of Kennedy, Minnesota, has been charged with second-degree murder and third-degree murder, following the deadly shooting.
According to court records, Hanson’s mother alerted the Kittson County Sheriff’s Office after Hanson admitted to shooting Esparza in the head. Hanson, reportedly delusional from drug use, also confessed to taking Esparza’s vehicle and dog.
Deputies later found Esparza deceased inside his home, lying face-down in a pool of blood with a Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun nearby. Hanson was arrested shortly after at her mother’s home in Kennedy. Authorities report that she appeared confused and admitted to the killing during her arrest.
Hanson now faces a maximum of 40 years in prison if convicted of second-degree murder.
