Grand Forks (trfnews.i234.me) — A Grand Forks man has been convicted of murder and two additional felony charges in connection to a deadly Independence Day 2024 shooting at Sledster’s Food and Brew.
On June 20, a jury found Nicholas Narveson guilty of Murder, Terrorizing, and Reckless Endangerment. The charges stem from an incident where Narveson pulled a handgun inside the bar and fired multiple rounds, killing James Jorgenson, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Narveson, who initially pleaded not guilty, fled the bar on foot but was later located and arrested by police.
Under North Dakota law, Murder is a Class AA felony, carrying a maximum penalty of life in prison without the possibility of parole. Narveson is scheduled to be sentenced on August 1.
