Grand Forks County (trfnews.i234.me) – Julie Louise Byre of Greenbush, Minnesota, is now facing serious legal trouble after being charged with felony theft related to a pattern of shoplifting at the Target store in Grand Forks.
According to court documents, store security had been tracking multiple incidents involving Byre, who allegedly used the self-checkout to scan low-cost items while bypassing more expensive merchandise. Though she initially went unidentified, Target’s internal systems had flagged her for four previous thefts. The latest charges, filed Friday, finally connect her to those past incidents.
Byre is now formally charged with felony theft of property due to her repeated offenses, along with two additional misdemeanor theft charges tied to recent events.
