Deputy reported lane crossings
According to the complaint, a sheriff’s deputy was on patrol at about 11:18 p.m. The deputy was near U.S. Highway 212 and 9th Street in Granite Falls. The deputy reported a vehicle riding the center line. The deputy said it crossed the line again.
The deputy attempted a traffic stop near Highway 212 and 15th Street. The vehicle was described as a 2008 orange Hummer H3. The complaint says the SUV first pulled over. It then kept rolling and sped away.
Chase lasted about six minutes
The deputy turned on the lights and a siren, the complaint says. Authorities say the SUV ran multiple stop signs. They also say it reached about 60 mph in a 30-mph zone.
Police reported the SUV entered a ditch and returned to the road. They said it weaved and sometimes entered the oncoming lane. Stop sticks were placed at an intersection, but the SUV missed them. The complaint says speeds later reached about 80 mph. Authorities estimate the chase covered about four miles.

Arrest and alleged behavior in custody
The SUV stopped near Highway 23 and 260th Avenue, according to the complaint. Officers conducted a high-risk stop. Police identified the driver as DeVlieger.
Officers reported DeVlieger resisted during the arrest. They said she was unsteady on her feet. They also reported bloodshot, watery eyes. The complaint says she later kicked and punched the squad car’s cage. It also says she spat while seated in the back.
A judge approved a warrant for a blood draw, the complaint states. Police said the sample was taken at a local hospital. Investigators also reported finding an open alcoholic drink inside the SUV. A passenger told police they were coming from a bar. The passenger also said they urged DeVlieger to stop.
Prior record and bail
Investigators said DeVlieger has a prior qualified impaired driving conviction. The conviction was in May 2025 in Lyon County.
DeVlieger made an initial court appearance in Yellow Medicine County. Judge Keith Helgeson set bail at $10,000 with conditions. The judge also set bail at $25,000, unconditionally. Court information is available through the Minnesota Judicial Branch.
