Grand Forks County (trfnews.i234.me) — On May 23, 2025, law enforcement officers in Grand Forks attempted to serve a warrant at the residence of 41-year-old Amy Leigh Olson, located at 813 Lewis Boulevard. Olson had outstanding felony charges related to possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.
Despite confirming through surveillance that Olson was inside her residence, officers received no response after knocking for approximately 20 minutes. Using a management key, they entered the apartment and found Olson hiding under blankets in a bedroom. According to the statement of probable cause, officers drew their weapons due to Olson’s initial failure to show her hands. Although she was verbally compliant, she delayed physically complying with commands to reveal her hands and stand up. Eventually, Olson surrendered and was taken into custody.
Olson now faces an additional felony charge of preventing arrest. This charge is in addition to her existing charges for possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia. The incident underscores the risks law enforcement officers face during warrant executions, especially when suspects attempt to evade arrest.
