This is not Carothers’ first encounter with the law for shoplifting. She had previously faced multiple charges for similar offenses. Due to this being her fourth or more theft offense within the past four years, Carothers has been charged with felony theft of property. The severity of the charge is based on her history of repeat offenses.

Carothers is expected to appear in court in the coming weeks to answer to the felony charge. The case is being closely monitored, as it could have significant legal implications for the 43-year-old woman.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the case, and Carothers could face additional charges depending on the outcome of the ongoing legal proceedings.
