Grand Forks (trfnews.i234.me)—A bizarre crime unfolded in Grand Forks as 49-year-old Marie I. Rintala was charged with felony robbery after a heated struggle over a baseball cap turned violent!

According to court records, the incident occurred on March 10th around 5:00 p.m. at 1639 24th Avenue South. The male victim reported that Rintala slammed into the back of his van, ripped open the door, and started screaming at him to get out. She then grabbed his baseball cap, leading to a struggle that left the cap torn.

The situation escalated when Rintala grabbed the victim and fell during the struggle. When officers arrived, she resisted arrest and fought with police.

Her motive? It remains unclear. Rintala told officers that she thought the victim was “suspicious” and knew him as “Ray, a fighter pilot.”

She now faces felony charges of robbery and resisting arrest.
