Grand Forks: Woman Charged After Alleged Gun Threat

Grand Forks (trfnews.i234.me) — A Grand Forks woman is facing a felony charge after allegedly threatening her neighbor with a gun during a dispute at an apartment building, according to court documents.

Elena A. Harris of Grand Forks has been charged with felony terrorizing following an incident that occurred around 10:43 p.m. on October 8, 2025. Police say they were called to an apartment building on Continental Drive after receiving reports of threats between neighbors.

The victim told officers that she and Harris had ongoing problems and that Harris had repeatedly kicked and banged on her door before the confrontation escalated. When the victim confronted Harris in the hallway and asked her to stop, Harris allegedly responded by threatening her with a gun. A third-party witness reportedly saw the incident take place.

When questioned by police, Harris denied threatening her neighbor and said she did not own any firearms. Court documents do not indicate whether a weapon was recovered at the scene. Officers collected statements and evidence before filing the terrorizing charge.

Under North Dakota law, terrorizing is a Class C felony, which carries a potential penalty of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 if convicted. Harris has not yet entered a plea, and no initial court appearance date was listed in available records.
