good morning and welcome to und’s weather update my name is dylan vogt taking a look outside our brand new sky cam beautiful sunny skies out there we’re sitting at 48 degrees already for the nine o’clock hour it’s saying overcast guys however you can see behind us mostly sunny skies wind is gusty out there south southeast at 21 miles per hour temperatures right now across the nation everybody nice and warm through the central part of the u.s a little chillier in the northwestern part we’ll talk about that in a second temperatures across the region 40s and even some isolated 50s in minnesota already this morning 30s over here in northwestern north dakota due to a low pressure system we’ll talk about here in a second so national satellite and radar to our east in the eastern part of the u.s nothing happening really quiet but as we head out west that cold air mass associated with a cold front and this low pressure system down here in denver and the rockies that will move on its way up into our area tonight into tomorrow moving in closer to our area now snow showers and some rain showers those are associated with those cooler temperatures i could see some snow showers in northwestern north dakota and those should stay to our north to throughout the day today here in grand forks so there are some weather hazards right now for parts of south dakota they’re in a winter weather advisory due to that colorado low which talk about in a second in the future cast you can see two to four inches of snow here then this gap between this dark purple and this light blue nothing has been issued yet however i would expect there to be something issued here in the next few hours but over here in this light blue area by duluth they’re in a winter storm watch they can see four to six inches of snow through thursday so for our forecast headlines before we talk about all that snow today is gonna be one of the warmest days we’ve seen so far this year however as we head throughout the day tomorrow we are going to be getting colder but staying above average for this time of year so far futurecast here’s that low pressure system to our west and keeping that snow well to our north as we go throughout the afternoon hours we are going to see those winds switch with this cold front pushing on through some northwesterly winds this afternoon as we go throughout the overnight hours here’s that snow slowly creeping its way upward into south dakota by morning tomorrow as we wake up tomorrow into tomorrow night that snow is really going to move eastward into central minnesota and northeastern minnesota where they could see the most snowfall four to six inches as we’ll see here in a second like i said that future snowfall expecting two to four inches of snow here in south dakota but parts of central minnesota into northeastern minnesota could see four to six inches of snow and six inches plus is definitely possible in some isolated areas throughout minnesota today though try not to think about snow we’re gonna be at 61 degrees the wind is gonna switch it’s going to be warm out there winds on the south southeast 10 to 15 switching though like i said out of the northwest 15 to 20. today throughout the region a beautiful day for march a lot of records will be broken 61 degrees like i said in grand forks 68 in fargo 67 in alexandria 70s in some spots in southern minnesota and eastern south dakota get outside and enjoy it these temperatures are not here to last tonight in grand forks 22 degrees can be breezy out there and getting colder winds of the northwest 15 to 20 gusting up to 25. tomorrow our high temperature is only going to be 35 mostly cloudy much cooler however 35 degrees is still 5 degrees above our average temperature winds out of the north 15 to 20 gusting up to 25. future weather for tomorrow everybody much cooler and there’s that precip stretching through central minnesota into northeastern minnesota everybody in the 30s or 40s finally for our seven-day forecast starting off very warm but then the roller coaster begins wednesday for tomorrow high temperature of 35 thursday gonna go back to 44 but friday thursday night into friday cold front is going to push on through dropping our temperatures once again by the weekend though it should be in the 40s approaching 50 after we spring our clocks ahead saturday night and by next week temperatures should be in the 30s
