good morning and welcome to und weather update my name is lauren larson taking a look outside here in grand forks we see clear skies and we are starting our morning off at 30 degrees and wind is out of the northwest at 14 miles an hour looking at those headlines we do have a chance of precipitation throughout the region today and that will continue into this evening and then clearing and warming will be the story for this weekend with clear skies and warmer temperatures and then as we begin next week we do have a chance of precipitation looking at the satellite and radar we have this front stretching across the central united states with a fair amount of precipitation out in front of it as we look off to the west we see some snow across utah and colorado and we could see up to two feet of snow in parts of colorado as we look to those temperatures this morning we see a harsh cut off between the midwest and down to the southeastern part of the united states 61 in atlanta right now and 73 in new orleans looking up to that colder part 27 in rapid city and 26 in great falls this morning so 30 in grand forks is not the coldest spot on the map as we start off our day looking to the looking closer to our region 31 right now in fargo and 30 in both brainerd and aberdeen most of the regions sitting in 20s with the exception of those 30s and then 35 in minneapolis is going to be the warmest spot on the map right now looking to our futurecast we see this high pressure system this is going to be friday morning and that’s what’s going to bring us that nice weather all weekend with those clear skies and pleasant temperatures and then as we go into saturday evening we’ll see some snow building into wyoming and parts of south dakota today our high is 38 here in grand forks we’re going to see some isolated precipitation precipitation as we go throughout the day to parts of the region winds out of the northwest at 10 to 15 miles an hour gusting up to 25. and looking at those regions highs 41 in fargo 40 in bemidji and brainerd minneapolis sitting at 50 as the high today but most of the region in those lower 40s um two upper 40s 33 again as an exception in minot today overnight tonight 10 degrees in grand forks as well as bemidji and 13 in fargo warmer as we move further south 29 overnight in minneapolis and 25 down in rapid city tomorrow in grand forks we can expect a high of 43 degrees it’s going to be clear but we’re still going to feel those strong winds but this time it’s going to be a south wind 5 to 15 miles an hour gusting up to 25 and taking a look at those next seven days we do have that chance of precipitation today and then clearing this weekend a high of 56 on saturday will be our warmest day and then as we look to the beginning of next week we do see those chance of precipitation return thank you so much for tuning in to und weather update check us out next time
