Grand Forks Teen Arrested After Alleged Assault Leads to DWI and Test Refusal Charges

Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On August 1, police responded to a report of an alleged assault that had occurred years ago in another state, leading them to 421 LaBree Ave. N. Imre Renek Schulz, 18, of Grand Forks, N.D., was arrested and charged with third-degree refusal to submit to a chemical test and fourth-degree DWI.

Upon arrival, officers encountered Schulz, who claimed his sister had been assaulted by a man inside the home. The officer detected the smell of alcohol on Schulz, who agreed to an eye check but refused to perform field sobriety tests and declined a preliminary breath test. At the jail, after consulting with an attorney, Schulz refused to take a breath test, citing religious reasons.
