Grand Forks SWAT Arrests Man On Warrants

GRAND FORKS (trfnews.i234.me) — The Grand Forks SWAT Team was called out Thursday morning to a townhome complex on Cherry Street. Authorities confirmed a suspect with multiple warrants was taken into custody without incident after negotiations.

Law enforcement identified the suspect as Ryan Schaf. According to officials, his criminal history led to the use of the SWAT team for public and officer safety. The arrest took place around 10:30 a.m. following a period of negotiations.

Schaf was wanted on several warrants. Charges include reckless endangerment, fleeing from law enforcement, possession of methamphetamine (second offense), and possession of drug paraphernalia (second offense).

No injuries were reported during the arrest, and the situation was resolved peacefully. Officers say the SWAT deployment was a precaution given the circumstances.

Authorities have not released further details on court dates or custody status. For updates on criminal cases and public safety in the Grand Forks area, visit the North Dakota Courts Public Access site.
