GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A seven-hour standoff in Grand Forks on July 22 ended with the arrest of 32-year-old Collin Posey, who was wanted on federal and state drug warrants. Posey, described as armed and dangerous, fled into a random apartment to evade arrest. The Grand Forks SWAT team used flash devices, chemical irritants, and drones but had to enter the apartment to arrest Posey, who was found hiding in a couch. The standoff caused significant damage to the apartment. The Grand Forks County prosecutor has yet to decide on the specific charges Posey will face. The cost of the damages may be covered by the apartment owner’s insurance, the city, or restitution from Posey if he is charged and convicted.
