GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A Grand Forks man has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Reckless Endangerment, after allegedly shooting another man while playing basketball Saturday evening. The victim has also now been identified. Criminal charges have been filed against Allen Little of Grand Forks in connection with a shooting that occurred Saturday evening at the basketball court by Purpur Arena. Little has been charged with felonies of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. According to the criminal complaint, Allen Little was playing basketball at approximately 8:07 p.m. when he got into a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation with DeMarco Brown. Brown was taken to the emergency room for a gunshot wound, which was reported as non-life-threatening.

Video evidence shows the physical altercation between Little and Brown, with others attempting to intervene. In one video, Little is seen lunging at Brown with a handgun and striking him. The video then captures the sound of a gunshot. An independent witness stated that Little and Brown were fighting instead of playing basketball. The fight was initially broken up, but Little retrieved a handgun from a vehicle, and the fight resumed, leading to the shooting.

Little admitted to shooting Brown but claimed he did not intend to kill him. Both individuals were engaged in a physical altercation before the shooting occurred.
