Grand Forks School Board Opts for Improvement Measures Over Discipline for Superintendent Brenner

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – The Grand Forks School Board voted unanimously on Monday not to take disciplinary action against Superintendent Dr. Terry Brenner. They convened specifically to discuss a complaint filed in April by a group of principals amidst budget cut talks.

School Board President Amber Flynn’s recommendations include hiring a leadership coach, conducting a 360-degree evaluation, and requiring Brenner to visit each school in the district twice annually. These measures aim to improve communication and leadership within the district.

In April, Valley News Live received a tip about Brenner being on administrative leave, which the district did not confirm. Board member Eric Lunn expressed dissatisfaction with the leak of the principals’ complaint, while Cynthia Shabb voiced concerns about the hastiness of the decision. Despite this, the board unanimously agreed to implement Flynn’s proposed actions.
