Grand Forks Rollover Crash Injures Woman at Busy Intersection
GRAND FORKS (trfnews.i234.me) – Police have released more details on a Sunday afternoon rollover crash at Washington Street and Demers Avenue that sent one woman to the hospital.
The crash happened around 4:00 p.m. and involved two vehicles. According to Grand Forks Police, a 2005 Ford Taurus driven by a 69-year-old man was traveling eastbound on Demers Avenue when it struck a 2013 Dodge Journey driven by a 78-year-old woman. The impact caused the Dodge Journey to roll into the intersection.
The woman driving the Dodge was trapped inside her vehicle. Grand Forks firefighters extricated her by cutting through the roof. She was transported by Altru Ambulance to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged and later towed from the scene. Traffic at the busy intersection was delayed for about an hour and a half while the crash was investigated and the roadway was cleared.
The incident remains under investigation by Grand Forks Police. No citations have been announced at this time. For more information on safe driving practices and crash prevention, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
