GRAND FORKS, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – Jayden Lloyd, a 21-year-old resident of Grand Forks, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison and three years of supervised probation following an incident in June 2024. Lloyd pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, possession with intent to deliver LSD and possession of a Schedule I hallucinogenic. Four additional charges were dismissed. The court also mandated that Lloyd complete chemical dependency and alcohol evaluations.
On June 1, 2024, officers responded to a call on 4th Avenue South in Grand Forks at approximately 4:00 a.m. They found a man in the parking lot with a head injury, who reported that Lloyd had struck him with a hatchet during an argument. Lloyd was located inside a residence with a female companion. Officers heard multiple gunshots from within the home, prompting the establishment of a perimeter and the involvement of SWAT and negotiation teams. Lloyd and the woman eventually exited the residence without further incident.
Investigators recovered a blood-covered hatchet in the garage, along with firearms and shell casings inside the home. Some bullets had penetrated a neighboring residence. A search of Lloyd’s home revealed drugs, including mushrooms and acid, as well as drug paraphernalia.
