hello and welcome to und weather update on this morning of november 2nd 2020. i am meteorologist brian remington and i will be bringing you your forecast today checking out our headlines out here we do have a mild monday in store for us with our high temperatures reaching up into the mid to upper 50s today that will transition us into quite a warm week the rest of it here seeing temperatures reaching up into the mid 60s for highs most rest of the week however all good things must come to an end and we do see the possibility of a wet weekend in store look at that at the seven day and the future cast right now outside we are seeing clear skies just a few passing high clouds out there right now as the sun begins to shine down on the city of grand forks sitting at 33 degrees right now for our temperature with a relatively calm west wind out of the west at seven miles an hour at this time temperatures across the region right now sitting relatively uniform in the low 30s across the region right now do see some of that warm air sitting off to our west to 39 in minot now 37 in rapid city as you go throughout the rest of the day that warm air will gradually make its way over towards red river valley and bring us those warmer high temperatures across the nation right now sitting relatively uniform as well a lot of lower 40s upper 30s across the midsection of the country we do see some warm air sitting in the southwest as usual and miami of course is the warm spot as 7 at 78 as we begin the morning national satellite and radar showing quite a sizable system moving off of the east coast right here bringing some snow to the pennsylvania and new york regions as we get our morning as well some rain up there in maine plenty of offshore flow pushing off of the east coast there looking at the rest of the country though it is relatively dry not too many clouds either as you go throughout the rest of the country here and as we zoom in closer to our area all we see are a few of those passing clouds in the upper levels as we begin our morning the future cast is going to show that trend continue for quite a while all the rest of today no real clouds in the sky as we head towards tomorrow morning not many clouds that will persist all the way into wednesday as you get towards wednesday afternoon we do see the chance of a few passing clouds but no real precip associated with that one so do head towards this weekend though we do expect some sort of system to make itself present coming out of colorado and moving north we don’t know the exact placement of this yet so we don’t want to show you any scary maps just yet but be aware that this weekend we could see a more sizable system develop today high of 59 out there will be quite warm we’ll see a few clouds in the sky of course and that wind will remain out of the west at 5-10 for the rest of the day tonight we’ll drop down to 35 our low should stay just above freezing we’ll be mostly clear out there with a light breeze out of the south southwest at 5-10 and tomorrow we get quite the warm-up mid-60s for our highs 64 out there will be warm almost have a spring or summer type feel to it out there the west southwest wind at 10 to 15 miles an hour checking out the seven day here we see of course today we’re just below six but one two three four days in a row we will see highs over 60 degrees out there will be quite nice but of course like we said as we head towards that weekend we begin to calm down just a little bit see those temperatures return to a more seasonable level as well the chances of rain and possibly even snow begin to increase we’ll get you better messaging on that as it gets closer thank you for watching und weather update i’m meteorologist ben remington please tune in next time
