Police say the attempted robbery happened Wednesday night. The reported time was about 6:32 p.m.
Officers say a suspect entered a business at 1429 South Washington Street. Police say the suspect was holding an envelope.
Police say the suspect handed the envelope to an employee. Police say it contained a note demanding money.
Police say the note also claimed the suspect was armed. Police say the suspect left moments later.
Police say the suspect fled without getting any money.

Suspect description
Police say the suspect wore sunglasses. Police say the suspect wore a green and white sweatshirt.
Police say the suspect also wore a mask that covered the face.
Police say the suspect appeared to be white. Police say the suspect sounded male, based on the voice.
Drone and K-9 search
Police say they set up a perimeter near the area. Police say they deployed a drone and K-9 assets.
Police say the suspect ran eastbound from the store. Police say the suspect was not located.
Police ask for tips
Police say they have an image of the suspect. They are asking anyone with information to call.
