Grand Forks Police ID Woman Found in Red River
Grand Forks ( trfnews.i234.me ) – Authorities have released the identity of a woman found deceased in the Red River on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025. The Grand Forks Police Department identified her as Terri Johnson, 69, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota.
Johnson was last seen alive on Sept. 17. While the exact circumstances of how or when she entered the river remain unclear, preliminary autopsy results indicate drowning as the likely cause of death. Police stressed that contrary to widespread social media reports, Johnson was not bound, and investigators have found no evidence of foul play or involvement by others.
The discovery was made near the north side boat ramp at Riverside Park. Relatives of Johnson were notified before the public release of her name. The case remains under active review, and investigators are asking for the public’s help.
