GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me)—Manuel Cantu and Bridget Nicole Wagner of Grand Forks have been charged with felony possession with intent to distribute an imitation controlled substance, along with misdemeanor charges for possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to court documents, the Grand Forks Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant on January 24, 2025, at their apartment at 4261 5th Avenue North, Apartment 101.
Investigation and Seizures
- Authorities searched a cell phone and found evidence that the pair had been allegedly selling methamphetamine.
- Officers seized over three ounces of what appeared to be methamphetamine.
- Cantu admitted to officers that the substance was imitation meth.
- Lab testing confirmed the substance was dimethyl sulfone, a common cutting agent used to deceive buyers.
- However, some drug paraphernalia seized from the apartment tested positive for real methamphetamine.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Both Cantu and Wagner now face:
- Felony charges: Possession with intent to distribute an imitation controlled substance
- Misdemeanor charges: Possession of drug paraphernalia
The case remains under investigation, and authorities have not ruled out additional charges.
