Grand Forks ( trfnews.i234.me ) – A man is facing multiple charges following a motorcycle pursuit across Grand Forks early Thursday morning.
According to the Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office, the chase began around 1:30 a.m. on October 2. Viewer video obtained by TRF News shows law enforcement vehicles pursuing a motorcycle through the city. Deputies led the pursuit, with assistance from the Grand Forks Police Department.
Authorities identified the suspect as Jamey Scott Rice, who is listed as homeless. The chase ended near the Grand Forks Police Department after Rice laid his motorcycle down on a curve and fled on foot. Officers quickly established a perimeter, and Rice was found hiding in a window well before being taken into custody.
Officials said Rice had multiple outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest. He is now facing additional charges connected to the pursuit. Formal charges are expected to be filed soon.
No injuries were reported during the incident. Authorities said more details will be released once the charging documents are completed.
Police remind the public that fleeing law enforcement on a motorcycle or any other vehicle poses serious risks to both the suspect and the community. For more on North Dakota criminal penalties, visit the North Dakota Court System.
