GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) Your Monday evening weather forecast from UND Atmospheric Sciences in Grand Forks.
happy monday everyone my name is caitlin connell and looking outside in grand forks right now we do see mostly cloudy skies we are sitting at 46 degrees so if you do want to get your car washed right now is the time winds out of the west at 22 miles per hour the almanac for yesterday showed that we reached up to 40 degrees on the dot yesterday our low was 12 degrees this morning our average high is 24 and our average low is 5 degrees so this winter we’ve been bouncing all over what’s average and what’s not ultimately yesterday we were above average and today we definitely still are above average winds right now we see 41 mile per hour sustained winds down in rapid city 28 up in minot and 14 in fargo temperatures right now we see 56 down in rapid city 79 down in los angeles same with down in miami 37 up in boston and a 72 in san antonio so hopefully that helped melt some of that snow that they got this past week the national satellite radar shows a pretty well developed low pressure system is headed over towards quebec giving some snow in the boston new york area some mixed precipitation in the washington dc area and a nice well-developed line of storms along that cold front headed towards the east coast zooming into our area we do see that we have some rain come through the area associated with that little trough right there we see that this low pressure system will be staying over there and this one is the one that’s really important because this is going to come right over grand forks bring us some snow in the red river valley and this cold front will help push that system out but keep those clouds sticking around in the next seven days future weather tonight we’ll see 30 down in minneapolis 24 up in international falls 32 in rapid city and 27 over in bismarck tomorrow will be a little bit cooler than what we saw today 36 down in fargo 44 down in rapid city 31 up in bismarck and 40 down in minneapolis tonight we’re dropping down to 27 degrees here in grand forks those clouds will be lingering giving us a partly to mostly cloudy night overnight tonight and ultimately pretty windy those winds are sticking around out of the west northwest at 15 to 20 miles per hour gusting to 30 tonight so pretty windy night ahead of us tomorrow those winds are tapering off just a hair out of the west southwest at 5-10 miles per hour gusting up to 20. so still pretty windy day ahead of us tomorrow and cooler temperatures with a high of 33 degrees here in grand forks an alberta clipper is coming through giving us a possibility of one to three inches of snow possible throughout the day tomorrow seven day forecast shows us that we are in the peak of a brief cooldown giving us back putting us back to 27 degrees on wednesday throughout the week we do see that thursday brings some more sunshine and high of 35 friday pushes us back up into 38 degrees and next week it pushes back down into the teens so you do want to get outside especially during thursday and friday and enjoy those temperatures because 13 on saturday and 16 on sunday is not looking that great be prepared to get cooler by the end of the week thank you so much for watching my name is caitlin connell
