GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) — In March 2024, Jeffrey Jacob Simpson Jr., 30, will face trial in Grand Forks for a series of serious charges, including attempted murder. The charges stem from an incident on March 22, 2024, when Simpson allegedly fired at six members of the regional SWAT team while they attempted to arrest him on domestic violence allegations.

Simpson, facing 15 charges—12 of them felonies—was reported to have threatened his ex-girlfriend with a gun and committed multiple violent acts. During the SWAT team’s attempt to arrest him at Primrose Court, Simpson allegedly shot at the officers before fleeing. He was later apprehended.

The charges include four counts of attempted murder, three counts of reckless endangerment, and other offenses related to violence and illegal possession of substances. Simpson, who has pleaded not guilty, plans to go to trial, scheduled for March 11, 2024.
