GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) — On January 7, Allen Jaborie Ticordiyae Little, 24, of Grand Forks, pleaded guilty to Class C felony aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon and Class C felony reckless endangerment-extreme indifference. These pleas were entered alongside a proposed plea agreement. The following day, January 8, after judicial approval, the case was concluded.
The charges stem from a May 25 incident at the Abbott Sports Complex in Grand Forks, where a verbal disagreement during a basketball game escalated into a physical altercation. During this confrontation, Little discharged a firearm, injuring another individual. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Video evidence captured the altercation, showing attempts by bystanders to intervene, and Little striking the victim with a firearm. A gunshot is audible in the footage. Approximately 20 individuals were present during the incident. A witness confirmed observing Little shoot the victim, and during a police interview, Little admitted to the shooting.
Class C felonies in North Dakota carry a maximum sentence of five years. Little received a five-year sentence, with three years suspended, resulting in two years of incarceration. He was credited for 21 days already served and is scheduled to report to the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation by 7 p.m. on February 17 to commence his sentence. Following his release, Little will undergo 18 months of supervised probation. Any probation violations could lead to the enforcement of the suspended three-year sentence.
