GRAND FORKS, ND – Nolli Hedira Neal Jr., 33, has been sentenced to 108 months (9 years) in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Neal’s sentencing took place on February 20, 2025, following a federal investigation into a methamphetamine distribution operation involving him and his father, Nolli Hedaira Neal Sr.
Drug Trafficking and Firearms Charges
Court records indicate that Nolli Neal Jr. and his father transported over 500 grams of methamphetamine. Neal Jr. was personally responsible for distributing approximately 315 grams on four separate occasions.
In addition to drugs, Neal Jr. was found in possession of a handgun and two rifles, which were allegedly kept to protect his drug operation.
An additional charge for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute was dismissed as part of his sentencing agreement.
Father and Son Sentenced in Federal Court
Neal Jr.’s father, Nolli Neal Sr., was previously sentenced in January 2025 to 50 months in prison for his role in the operation.
Prison Placement and Rehabilitation Programs
- Neal Jr. will receive credit for time served, though court documents do not specify the duration.
- He may be placed out of state to be closer to family.
- He will have access to substance abuse treatment, including the 500-hour Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program (RDAP).
- He is eligible for educational, vocational, and mental health treatment programs offered by the Bureau of Prisons.
After completing his 108-month sentence, Neal Jr. will be placed on supervised release for five years.
